We are now in 2009 and most of us are using a 6 year old piece
of software when we could be using a 2 year old one.
2007 has more features and if we all upgrade, then we won't
have compatability issues.
We can use the practicum as an ideal learning time.
Aoraki rural should

Yes I think this would be an ideal opportunity to upgrade and get the
PD to support the upgrade. Some teacher with the 2007 version love
it and would never go back, others have expressed their frustration
with the newer version and would appreciate the support.
The other consideration is the new TELA laptops will have 2007
so we all need to learn how it functions eventually.

It's time to move forward and upgrade to the 2007 version if we haven't already. It has some awesome features and once you become familiar with its new format (which takes some time to get used to) it is actually brilliant and easy to use. All schools have the upgrade CD for Microsoft Office 2007 as part of their Microsoft Schools Agreement so it should only cost time rather than money to upgrade. We had a bit of a mix of 2003 and 2007 until earlier this term, but we are now fully 2007 version across the school.

I have to agree - it is time for everyone to move to the most recent version - 2007. While Word takes a little learning, the functions have been expanded. We have taken the plunge and have converted.

Yes I think we should the 07 installed for the practicums.Perfect chance so get to know the different functions then have the support in the practicums for any problems teachers are having.
